Description:
Play this all week long to keep your Shabbos consciousness strong! Invite Eliyahu HaNavi and David HaMalech into your home along with Shlomo. Two weeks before Chanukah (November 30, 1983), Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach (zt'l) and musician Yehudah Katz sat in a Jerusalem hotel room planning the concept and material for a forthcoming recording. Reb Shlomo had many songs that had not yet been recorded. He wanted to give them over to the world as a gift, in a way that they'd never before been heard. Reb Shlomo had often found the "studio session" to be a lonely experience. Withour his Chevra singing along, it just wasn't the same. "Ah, so good, we'll bring the Chevra into the sudio with us," he said. The stage was now set for an incredible evening of music and songs at The Yellow Submarine, a rehearsal and recording studio located in the Talpiot neighborhood of Yerushalayim. Reb Shlomo, accompanied by Katz's band, Reva L'Sheva, would perform his previously unrecorded songs for as many friends as the studio management would allow to be present. After Reb Shlomo zt'l left this world, the Jerusalem-based Carlebach Foundation felt it would be most fitting to take the material from that evening's historic session and include it in this new package.
