Description:
The Israeli born Moshav Band grew up on Moshav Me'or Modi'im located in the hills between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Their home, founded by the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, was and continues to be the birthplace of many Jewish songs enjoyed by the world over. The members of the Moshav Band were under the spiritual guidance of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, zt'l, while immersed in his musical world, often performing with him at his concerts. Although greatly influenced by Carlebach, the Moshav Band was also shaped by the music of their American-born, 60s - Hippie parents. Sounds like Neil Young, Dylan, Van Morrison and the Grateful Dead were among those artists that influenced their young musical lives. Current performers such as Phish, Pearl Jam and Dave Mathews Band have played a more recent influential role in the musical creativity of the band members. Past projects in which the Moshav Band has played an essential role include the "Wake Up" Tour (an East Coast Jewish Renewal project), and the Berlin and Texas Israeli "Block Parties," organized to increase Israel and Jewish awareness. The Moshav Band has repeatedly sparked the fire of Judaism in the hearts of students and young adults around the world and looks forward to bringing their exciting show to your community.
