Miriam Kressyn was the most popular Yiddish artist on radio of her day. She starred in numerous operettas, comedies and dramas. Her performance in the Yiddish version of "Anna Lucasta" was hailed by critics. She toured Europe many times with outstanding success. The accolade "First Lady of the Yiddish Theatre" was well merited. She was also the foremost woman commentator on the WEDV radio program "Jewish Matinee Time." Seymour Rechtzeit, known as the "Perry Como" of the Jewish radio, began his long and distinguished career on the stage, in radio and films with the operetta "Dem Rebben's Niggen." He had been a favorite on the Yiddish stage and recorded hundreds of songs in Yiddish, English, Italian, French and Russian. The original master recording of this CD was consigned to oblivion and only recently discovered and brought to life through the miracle of modern day electronics and the most ingenious of technical resources and has been restored almost to its original quality.
