Description:
Michael Ian Elias is a vocal artist and composer with over 15 years of professional experience as a performer, studio vocalist and musician. He has recorded and performed with Cher, Kenny Loggins, B.J. Thomas and Eddie Money, just to name a few. Once the lead singer of the band "Chill" on EMI Records, Michael's voice hit the R & B charts. He has also been heard on numerous films, television projects and radio programs. It is now the Jewish music world that Michael holds close to his heart and soul. He performed with Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach zt"l in the former Soviet Union, as lead singer of the band "Promised Land." Michael is a seasoned songwriter and now performs original compositions as well as traditional songs. In December 1996, Michael released his first solo album of original Jewish music, "Keep the Light Shining." Michael was the American Jewish Song Festival 1993 grand prize winner, for his song "Kate's Dream." He had guest solo appearances on Sam Glaser's and Craig Taubman's albums. He produced and sang background vocals on Neshama Carlebach's 1996 album, "Soul" and did vocal production and background vocals on Neshama and Reb Shlomo Carlebach's release, HaNeshama Shel Shlomo. He also did background vocals on one of Peter Himmelman's albums. (Copyright 1996)
